Overview of French Guiana Weather

French Guiana has a tropical climate. The temperature does not vary much throughout the year, but there is a wet and a dry season. The wet season is from December to June and the dry season is from July to November.

The average temperature in Cayenne, the capital of French Guiana, is 27 degrees Celsius (80 degrees Fahrenheit). The temperature can get as high as 32 degrees Celsius (90 degrees Fahrenheit) and as low as 23 degrees Celsius (73 degrees Fahrenheit).

The rainy season is from December to March. During this time, there is an average of 9 hours of sunshine per day. The rainfall can be heavy, with an average of 200 millimeters (8 inches) per month.

The dry season is from April to November. During this time, there is an average of 6 hours of sunshine per day. The rainfall is much less during this time, with an average of 50 millimeters (2 inches) per month.

French Guiana is located in the northeastern part of South America. It is bordered by Brazil to the east and Suriname to the west. The country has a small population of about 245,000 people.
