Overview of Sierra Leone Weather

Sierra Leone is a country located in West Africa. The country is bordered by Guinea to the north and Liberia to the south. The country has a tropical climate with a rainy season that runs from May to October. The average temperature in the country is 27 degrees Celsius.

The country experiences two types of rainfall. The first type is the convective rainfall which is caused by the heating of the earth’s surface. This type of rainfall is experienced in the months of April and May. The second type of rainfall is the orographic rainfall which is caused by the lifting of air over mountains. This type of rainfall is experienced in the months of June to September.

The country has a diverse range of flora and fauna. The country is home to several national parks and reserves. Some of the wildlife that can be found in the country include chimpanzees, lions, leopards, and elephants.

The country’s economy is largely dependent on agriculture. Some of the crops that are grown in the country include rice, maize, and peanuts. Sierra Leone is also rich in minerals such as diamonds, gold, and iron ore.
