Slovakia is a landlocked country in Central Europe with a population of over 5 million people. The capital and largest city is Bratislava, while the second-largest city is Kosice. With a territory of 49,036 square kilometers, Slovakia is one of the smallest countries in Europe.

Slovakia has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons. The average temperature in the summer is 22°C, while in the winter it is -2°C. The coldest month is January and the warmest month is July.

The country generally experiences two types of weather patterns – the continental climate from the interior of the country and the maritime climate from the coast. The interior of the country is characterized by hot summers and cold, snowy winters, while the coast experiences cooler summers and milder winters.
