Overview of Vietnam Weather

Vietnam is a tropical country with a hot, humid climate. The average temperature is 27°C, with little variation throughout the year. The rainy season lasts from May to October, when the country is subject to typhoons.

The best time to visit Vietnam is during the dry season, from November to April. This is when the weather is at its most pleasant, with cool breezes and little rainfall. December and January can be quite cool in the north of the country, so visitors should pack accordingly.

Vietnam’s weather can be divided into three main seasons:

The hot season runs from March to May, when temperatures can reach 40°C. This is also the wet season, with rains brought by the monsoon.

The cool season lasts from November to January, when temperatures average 20-25°C. This is also the dry season, with very little rainfall.

The rainy season runs from May to October, when tropical storms bring heavy rains to the country. This is also the hottest time of year, with temperatures often reaching 40°C.
